Guy Fawkes River National Park - New South Wales Australia
New South Wales is one of Australia’s most exciting destinations. The biggest reason is that the capital of NSW is Sydney and we all know that Sydney is a magnet for tourists by dint of its popular attractions including the architecture award winner Sydney Opera. Every year, there are thousands of tourists flocking to the region. Also, Sydney acts as an international gateway to many other regions including the tropics and outback. Cheap flights to Sydney are offered by many airlines to encourage more and more tourism. Nowadays, Qantas and British Airways also have a SALE offer on their tickets to Sydney. Also Qatar Airways and Etihad are offering cheap flights to Australia that has given a tense competition to BA. For lists and details of cheap flights to Sydney from UK, Visit Travelhouseuk.co.uk.
Apart from all the hustling and bustling, hot and happening locations of NSW, there is a serene, peaceful and quieter side of NSW, which makes it s perfect destination for people from all walks of life. One such place I can recommend to visit is the Fawkes River National Park, located on water fall near Ebor, New South Wales Australia. It is a large and secluded wilderness area of rugged and scenic river systems that provides a habitat for an extensive bird and animal population. For plants loving people it offers 40 different vegetation communities, 28 threatened plant species, 24 threatened fauna species and significant areas of old growth forest protected within the park.
In the 1970s the Bicentennial National trail was plotted to run along the western side of Guy Fawkes River on what is a trailing stock route, formerly known as National Horse Trail it is the longest marked multi-use trail in the world. It is suitable for self-reliant horse riders, walkers and mountain bike riders.
In Guy Fawkes river National Park there are excellent examples of valleys and rugged river gorges including the deeply incised Guy Fawkers river valley along the line of an ancient fault through the park. The rugged gorges of the Aberfoyle, Sara and henry river also run through the park.
Guy fawkers national park offers excellent opportunities for campers and for experienced and well-equipped bushwalkers to completely immerse themselves in the unspoilt natural environment. Campers can set their tent at the Creek side Chaelundi camping area and Dalmorton camping area further north, and bushwalkers can stay overnight at the more remote Jordan camping area. The park also offers excellent picnic spots at Ebor falls, spring gully and Chaelundi Rest area.
One of the most accessible spots in the park from where you can take in the views across the wild and scenic Gorge country is Ebor falls. It is where the Guy Fawkes River takes a spectacular plunge over Basalt rock. Although not very high, the two part fall presents the visitors with some great views and some interesting walks. It’s arguably the most scenic of the many water falls on the water falls way.
